The Nigeria Police, Kano State Command, has issued a warning to individuals planning to stage protests today, urging them to operate within the boundaries of the law.
The Command has also vowed to take decisive action against anyone who disrupts the peace during the planned protest.
In a statement released on Monday, the Command announced the arrest of 89 alleged notorious criminals and assured residents of their commitment to ensuring adequate security of lives and property during the Independence Day celebrations.
Speaking on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Kiyawa, revealed that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and hitch-free celebration.
“I urge all Kano residents to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to participate peacefully in the Independence Day celebration,” the Commissioner of Police stated.
Additionally, security personnel have been strategically deployed across the state to prevent any potential security threats related to the planned nationwide protest on October 1st.
