The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has instructed accredited organizations to submit personal details and photographs of their field observers through its portal ahead of the 2024 Edo and Ondo State Governorship elections.

This directive was disclosed in a statement signed by Sam Olumekun, Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, on INEC’s official X handle on Monday.

INEC announced that out of 153 applications from interested organizations, 134 groups (124 domestic and 10 international) met the accreditation requirements.

The commission also stated that it will hold a one-day training session for representatives of the observer groups on Wednesday at the Commission’s Conference Room in Abuja.

The statement partially reads: “The next step is for the accredited organizations to upload the personal details and photographs of their field observers to our dedicated portal established for that purpose.
