The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct a mock accreditation exercise at the designated polling units on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

This is in preparation for the Edo State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024.

The commission will be conducting a trial run of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the result upload process to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal.

This trial involves live voters at selected locations across the state.

The Commission has chosen 12 Polling Units across six Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the three Senatorial Districts of Edo State for this mock accreditation.

In Edo Central, the exercise will be conducted at Eguare Primary School, Eguare 1, and Uwenujie Primary School, Uwenujie, both in Esan Central LGA, as well as at Eguare Primary School 1, Ewohimi, and Eguare Okhuesan (Former L. A. School 1), Emu, in Esan South East LGA.

In Edo North, the designated locations are Usokwi Iyogbe Azama Primary School, Yeluwa, and the polling unit at Institute of Continuing Education Road, Auchi, both in Etsako West LGA, while Uhonmwora Owere Primary School, Uhonmwora-Ora, and Holy Trinity Grammar School, Sabongidda-Ora, will serve as centres in Owan West LGA.

In Edo South, Western Boys’ High School 1 and Ologbosere Primary School 1 are the designated centres in Ikpoba Okha LGA, while Idia College I and Payne Primary School 1 will serve as centres in Oredo LGA.

A graphic detailing the names and locations of these centres has been made available on the Commission’s website and social media platforms for public reference.

The Commission urges registered voters to participate in the exercise by bringing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

It is important to note that only voters registered at the designated polling units are eligible to participate in the mock accreditation.

The BVAS will not accredit voters registered elsewhere.
