Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd is collaborating with the Federal Government to launch locally assembled Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles in Nigeria.

The company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, disclosed this during a briefing with State House correspondents following his visit to President Bola Tinubu on Thursday in Abuja.

Chukwuma highlighted that his company began producing CNG vehicles about two years ago and assured that these vehicles would soon be widely available across the country.

“I was the first to introduce CNG vehicles in Nigeria. My visit today focused on discussing our CNG vehicles with the government, and soon, the masses will see CNG buses on the roads,” Chukwuma said.

He praised the government’s initiative on CNG, describing it as the best approach for the country, which aligned with his decision to establish a factory dedicated to producing CNG vehicles in Nigeria.

Chukwuma noted that his company had already ventured into CNG vehicle production even before the Federal Government adopted the initiative. He emphasized that those who have used CNG vehicles can attest to their potential as a sustainable transportation solution for the nation.

During his visit, Chukwuma also expressed support for President Tinubu, urging Nigerians to be patient. “People need to be patient; we will witness a better Nigeria. Everyone should calm down and give Tinubu a chance. He wants the best for this country, and I’m encouraging everyone to remain patient and refrain from damaging public infrastructure,” he added.
