The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced a new partnership with Dangote Refinery for the direct lifting of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual dual-purpose kerosene (DPK).
This agreement aims to ensure a steady and affordable supply of petroleum products across Nigeria, benefiting both IPMAN members and the general public.
IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Shettima-Garima, revealed the partnership during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, following a meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Association.
He commended the efforts of President Bola Tinubu and key stakeholders, including the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and Director General of the Department of State Services, Adeola Ajayi, for their contributions to the success of the downstream sector.
Shettima-Garima emphasized the importance of the backward integration model provided by Dangote Refinery, which he said would positively impact Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.
He also called on IPMAN members to fully support the Dangote Refinery, as well as Nigerian refineries, as part of their commitment to Nigeria’s economic growth and job creation.
Furthermore, Shettima-Garima urged his members to begin preparations for the installation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) refill stations at their outlets nationwide.
He stressed that the transition to CNG would provide an alternative energy source and improve the lives of Nigerians.
The IPMAN president expressed the Association’s readiness to collaborate with the Federal Government and the Petroleum CNG Initiative (PCNGI) to ensure the successful implementation of the CNG initiative, recognizing its potential to rejuvenate Nigeria’s economy.
Shettima-Garima concluded by thanking President Tinubu for his economic policies and extended gratitude to Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his role in strengthening the relationship between IPMAN and Dangote Refinery.
