Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, widely known as Victony, has shared candid insights into his ongoing health journey, revealing that he has undergone four surgeries and is preparing for another one.
In an interview during the Adesope Live segment at the Afroland Festival, Victony reflected on his recovery process following a devastating car accident in 2021, which left him in a coma for four days. Despite the challenges, he remains optimistic and focused on his career.
“Honestly, I am blessed and the world can see. I’m still in the recovery phase but I’m still able to do this now. And I’m about to go on tour,” Victony shared. He acknowledged the difficulties he faces but emphasized his gratitude and determination.
“Thinking about last year, even up until recently, I have done four surgeries and I am still going to do one more after the tour. But it’s still a blessing. Going in and out of the hospital.”

The singer also revealed that he takes pain relievers before performing on stage, underscoring the physical toll of his profession. “I take pain relievers before I go on stage and I still record. I thank God for his grace, it is not by power. I’m not his favourite child so I don’t know why he is blessing me,” he said.
In February 2023, Victony announced a two-month break from music to undergo his third surgery. His resilience and perseverance continue to inspire fans as he prepares for his upcoming North America tour.
