The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that it will not reverse its directive requiring all tertiary institutions to disclose candidates admitted outside the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) before the August 31, 2024 deadline.

JAMB highlighted that many candidates have been visiting its offices to address issues related to undisclosed admissions dating back to 2017.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm, but we must clarify that the focus is not on the actions of candidates. The responsibility lies with institutions to disclose all candidates admitted outside CAPS before the August 31, 2024 deadline.

This requires immediate compliance,” said JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

He urged institutions to thoroughly review the Board’s initial directive and ensure full compliance, warning that failure to do so will result in serious consequences.

The Board also reminded candidates not to accept admissions that were processed outside CAPS, emphasizing that any undisclosed admissions will not be recognized or condoned moving forward.
