In a shocking incident, Habiba Ibrahim, a newlywed woman, allegedly cut the manhood of her 40-year-old husband, Salisu Idris, while he was asleep.

The attack occurred on May 26 in Kudan, Kaduna State, shortly after Idris, a commercial motorcycle rider, returned home from early morning prayers.

According to reports, Idris was resting on his bed when Habiba unexpectedly attacked him with a sharp knife.

Neighbours, alarmed by Idris’s screams, intervened and saved him from further harm.

Idris recounted that they had been married for about four months and expressed bewilderment over the attack, citing no prior disputes or issues in their relationship.

Idris was initially rushed to a local hospital in Kudan, then referred to the General Hospital Makarfi, and subsequently transferred to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria, where doctors worked tirelessly to save his life.

Expressing his fears, Idris said, “At the moment, I am more concerned about my condition. I am afraid of remarrying because of this incident.”

Rabi Salisu, Idris’s mother, who is caring for him in the hospital, mentioned that Idris had never reported any problems with his wife to her, despite not living in the same compound.

She also noted that Habiba’s parents are distressed and have offered to cover the medical expenses.

Efforts to obtain comments from the attending doctors were unsuccessful, and the Kaduna State Police have yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
