The outgoing Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Mr. Usaini Gumel, affirmed the command’s commitment to upholding law and order in the state.
In an interview on Tuesday in Kano, Gumel stated that the police and other security agencies would remain resolute in fulfilling their duties to the people of the state.
He cautioned against politicizing the state’s security situation, emphasizing the need for all residents to assist the police in their tasks. Gumel underscored the importance of creating a conducive atmosphere for law-abiding individuals to engage in their lawful activities, noting that this was a key priority for the command’s personnel.
“We are unwavering in our commitment to maintaining a peaceful environment for residents,” said Gumel, who serves as an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).
He called on the public to provide the police with vital information that could aid in identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting criminal elements within society.
“Our focus remains on our mandate, ensuring a safe environment for everyone,” Gumel added.
He also expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, advice, and guidance from stakeholders, which he said has been instrumental in maintaining peace in the state.
