Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has alleged that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is devising strategies to manipulate the upcoming 2027 elections in their favor.

He confidently asserted that his governance record will secure his reelection and pledged to vigorously oppose any efforts to undermine the will of the people.

According to a statement from his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf made these remarks during the monthly women empowerment program held at the Government House’s Coronation Hall.

The Governor expressed that he is not concerned about the 2027 elections, emphasizing that leadership is ultimately determined by the Almighty.

“What truly concerns me is not my re-election but fulfilling the promises of democracy associated with my current term. I want the citizens of Kano to evaluate my performance by the end of this tenure,” he stated.

He also lamented the actions of those he described as adversaries of Kano, masquerading as opposition figures, who are trying to stir political unrest in the state.

“We recognize those who were overwhelmingly rejected in both the 2019 and 2023 elections. We triumphed over them even when we held no political positions—not even a councillor. But through divine intervention, we achieved a resounding victory,” he remarked.

Governor Yusuf further urged the APC leadership in Kano to avoid making inflammatory comments and hate speech that could intimidate unsuspecting voters eager to exercise their electoral rights.

“I am destined to be a Governor. I firmly believe and submit to Allah’s will that if it is His desire, I will serve a second term; if not, then so be it. So why should I worry?” he concluded.
