The Kano state police command announced that they have arrested 392 people suspected of looting during the nationwide hunger and hardship protest in Kano State on Thursday. The suspects are believed to have looted the NNC Industrial Park, the Kano High Court, and several other locations. Police spokesman Abdullahi Kiyawa informed journalists on Friday that the suspects were caught with many stolen items.

The newly constructed NCC park was among the looted places, targeted by troublemakers on Thursday. This park, along with an ICT center scheduled for opening next week, was also set on fire during the chaos.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the scene at the ICT center was extremely disorderly. Protesters were seen taking desktop computers, chairs, keyboards, and other valuable items before setting the building ablaze.

In response to the violence, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf declared a 24-hour curfew across the state on Thursday. He urged all residents to stay indoors while security agencies work to enforce the curfew and restore order. Governor Yusuf expressed deep concern over the situation and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to bring the situation under control.
