Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has recently unveiled plans to boost the local community through significant initiatives. At an event in Suru town, the Governor inaugurated a newly refurbished government hospital, which cost approximately N40 million, funded through community efforts.
Notably, a local resident, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad, contributed N30 million to the hospital’s completion. During the ceremony, Dr. Idris expressed his gratitude to Ahmad and announced a new empowerment program. This initiative, worth N5 billion, aims to provide financial assistance of N100,000 each to about 50,000 people in the state.
In addition to the hospital, the Governor also opened the Imam Malik Jumuat Mosque in Suru Town, a project funded entirely by Ahmad. Idris praised Ahmad’s dedication and urged others with the means to undertake similar community projects.
The Governor also recognized the contributions of JIBWIS and applauded the Ulamas, under the leadership of Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, for their guidance and community support.
Furthermore, Governor Idris laid the foundation for an Islamiyya School, which will include a two-storey building with eight classrooms and an administrative block, also funded by Ahmad. Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau highlighted the importance of using wealth to benefit the community and serve God.
