The wife of the Governor of Kebbi State, Hajia Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has given over 10 million naira to nearly 900 Christian widows in the Sakaba and Danko-Wasagu local government areas. This support was provided through her foundation, the Nasare Foundation, and the event took place at the United Missionary Church of Africa (UMCA) in Machika.
Hajia Zainab, represented by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Hajia Fatima Sani Udu, emphasized that this generous act shows that the resources of Kebbi State are for all its people, regardless of their religion. She stated, “This assistance will continue as part of my husband’s campaign promise to help everyone in Kebbi State, without any bias.”
The State Coordinator of the Nasare Foundation, Abdulrasheed Bala, explained that 8.3 million naira was distributed among 830 Christian widows in the area. Additionally, the program organizers received 2 million naira for empowerment.
Furthermore, the coordinator announced that the foundation has plans to train the widows in various skills to help them become self-sufficient.
