The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has declared its resurgence, pledging to engage constructively with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in a bid to revitalize political discourse in the region.

Alhaji Tijani Aruwa, the recently appointed State Publicity Secretary, asserted that the PDP is poised to serve as a robust opposition to the APC, ensuring that political power is not monopolized by any single party.

Speaking to reporters in Lokoja, Aruwa extended an invitation to former party members who joined the APC, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Labour Party (LP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) to return to the PDP, highlighting that the party’s umbrella is spacious enough to include all.

Additionally, the party urged those who were unsuccessful in securing positions during the recent internal elections to embrace a spirit of sportsmanship. Aruwa emphasized that every role within the party is temporary and should take a backseat to the well-being of Kogi State’s citizens, who are facing significant challenges.

Aruwa also took aim at the APC, criticizing its management of state resources. He pointed out that despite increased funding, the state lacks tangible progress. He reflected on the PDP’s history of inclusive governance, which accomplished remarkable feats even with limited resources.
