Thepaan News previously reported that Abdulsalami Hudu and Umar Oricha voluntarily went to the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) headquarters on Monday, following allegations of corruption.

The Kogi State Government has confirmed that two of its officials are currently present at the EFCC’s office in Abuja. In a statement, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, addressed reports that a Federal High Court had issued an order for their arrest.

“Even though they did not receive an official summons, they chose to go to the EFCC headquarters on their own,” the statement explained.

“We have not been given detailed information about the specific allegations against them, but they might be related to ongoing investigations involving some current and former government officials,” the statement continued.

The statement further noted, “The officials presented themselves as responsible citizens of Nigeria to show that the Kogi State Government has nothing to conceal and is always willing to cooperate with lawful investigations.” “We hope the EFCC will acknowledge the officials’ patriotic stance by maintaining professionalism throughout their investigation process.”

“As a government, we are committed to working with anti-corruption agencies to demonstrate our transparency and uphold the trust of our development partners who have consistently recognized us for our dedication to transparency, accountability, and integrity.”
