The Labour Party (LP) has strongly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration under President Bola Tinubu, alleging that it has imposed significant hardship on the Nigerian populace.

Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the LP, articulated the party’s stance, stating that causing suffering appears to be a foundational ideology of the APC.

In an interview published on Thursday, Ifoh remarked that President Tinubu has pledged to continue the policies of former President Muhammadu Buhari, resulting in the current struggles faced by Nigerians.

He expressed concern that many people are struggling to afford essential needs such as food, medical care, and other basic life necessities due to the stringent policies instituted by the current administration.

Ifoh’s comments came in response to a proposal suggesting that the Tinubu government seek assistance from former President Goodluck Jonathan to help stabilize the economy and currency.

In his response, Ifoh stated, “This is not merely about asking for help. It stems from the party’s ideology. Their goal is to create hardship. As the current President indicated, he intends to carry on from where the last President left off. This translates to inflicting pain and suffering on Nigerians, and they are succeeding in this endeavor.”

He added, “At this rate, I cannot predict where Nigeria will be in three years. People are unable to cover their medical expenses or even secure basic food. Taxes are being raised daily, and their objectives are being fulfilled. The increasing number of school dropouts is evident. So, it’s not about stubbornness; it’s about the policies in place.”
