Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, has pledged to secure a Labour Party victory in Lagos by 2027.
Rhodes-Vivour made this commitment during a recent extended stakeholders’ meeting of the Labour Party in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.
He expressed confidence that the party has grown stronger and is well-positioned to achieve its goal, thanks to ongoing strategizing and consolidation since its impressive performance in the 2023 elections, where it made significant gains in Lagos.
The former governorship candidate expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the Umuahia meeting, stating that the Labour Party’s future is looking brighter.
He said, “The LP is now better structured to not only win but to take power in 2027. Our goal here in Umuahia is to align everyone and prepare for the new victories ahead.”
Rhodes-Vivour assured that the party’s efforts have not ceased since the 2023 elections. “We are growing stronger each day and are fully prepared to secure a decisive victory in Lagos in 2027,” he stated. “We are not just aiming to win but to establish ourselves in power.”
He also criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its governance failures, attributing the current economic hardships and widespread hunger to the party’s poor performance.
According to Rhodes-Vivour, these issues have made it easier for the Labour Party to make significant gains in both Lagos and nationally by 2027.
