Lagos Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has taken a proactive approach in providing food assistance to the residents of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA in the state.

Under the guidance of the Community Development Committee, chaired by Elder Ernest Kasumu, and supported by Secretary Sakiru Oguntola and other executive members, food packages were distributed to the community.

These packages consisted of 25kg of rice, beans, and garri, and were given to 18 members of each Community Development Association. The focus was on supporting the less privileged and vulnerable individuals in the community.

This distribution fulfills the promise made by the Lagos state government to alleviate the economic hardships faced by residents.

It is part of the Lagos State Social Intervention Programme, specifically the Ounje Eko and Eko Cares initiatives, in collaboration with the Federal government’s Food Security Programme.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude towards the Community Development Committee and their respective CDAs for their selfless efforts in distributing the food items.

They recommended that the government continue to utilize the CDCs for similar tasks and offered prayers for the smooth execution of future palliative distributions.

Governor Sanwo-Olu was commended for his benevolence, and the beneficiaries encouraged him to continue utilizing the Community Development Committee to ensure that these palliatives reach the grassroots level.

Mr. Williams Adelabu, Chairman of Ola-Oluwa CDA in Ojokoro Joint CDAs, expressed his appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Chairman of Agbado Oke Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa, and CDC Chairman Elder Ernest Kasumu for their unwavering concern for the masses.

Similarly, Chief (Comrade) M.O. Oluwaseun, the General Secretary of Ifesowapo, Ikola Ilumo CDA, expressed gratitude to the authorities for the distribution of the food palliatives. The comprehensive effort was greatly appreciated by the CDA members.

Mr. A. A. Adelowo, Secretary of Ire Ayo CDA in Oke Isagun, Agbado Oke Odo LCDA, Lagos State, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for delivering on his promises to the people of Lagos.

The palliatives and relief packages provided demonstrated the governor’s commitment to the well-being of all citizens, and the facilitators were praised for their excellent work.
