The Lagos State Government has launched a Cybersecurity Operations Centre to enhance its ability to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats as they happen and with more efficiency.
During the 2024 Ministerial Press Briefing on Monday, Commissioner for Science, Innovation, and Technology, Mr. Olatunbosun Alake, announced the establishment of the center.
He highlighted that the CSOC will leverage advanced technology and a team of cybersecurity experts to safeguard the state’s digital infrastructure from potential cyber-attacks.
In addition to the CSOC, Alake revealed that a cybersecurity council has been formed.
This council, comprising experts from both the public and private sectors, is tasked with advising the government, planning, refining, and implementing cybersecurity policies, programs, and training initiatives.
To further bolster security and governance, the Lagos State Government is partnering with leading cybersecurity firms and international organizations.
These collaborations aim to provide the state with access to cutting-edge technologies and expertise, enhancing its capacity to defend against sophisticated cyber threats.
