The final burial rites for the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, commenced at the Military Cemetery, Abuja, with dignitaries from various sectors, including President Bola Tinubu, in attendance.
Also present at the solemn event were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Service Chiefs, Inspector General of Police Dr. Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, members of the Federal Executive Council, state governors, diplomats, and members of the National Assembly.
The ceremony began with the Pall Bearers setting the casket, followed by a Faith Service, opening prayers, the Last Post, and a minute of silence in honor of the late Army Chief.
Lt. Gen. Lagbaja passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The burial proceedings were conducted under heavy security, with parts of the popular Airport Road in Abuja temporarily closed to traffic.
