Super Eagles of Nigeria attacking sensation Ademola Lookman has made a historic achievement with his Serie A club Atalanta.

The Bergamo-based club are currently leaders of Italy’s top flight league, a feat that has never happened in the club’s Serie A history.

On Saturday, Ademola Lookman handed Atalanta their 11th win of the season which took their points tally to 34 points in just 15 matches.

It was not the first time the Nigerian has proven to be a key figure in the Atalanta side this season, the young star was also at his best when Atalanta faced then leaders, Napoli.

Lookman scored twice in that game to hand his side the much-needed three points against the Antonio Conté side.

The former Everton, Leicester City and RB Leipzig man has been at his best since last season, handing them their first European trophy in over 30 years after scoring a glorious hat-trick against an unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen side.

The 26-year old has been nominated for the African Footballer of the year and he is currently leading to be the favourite for the award.

Third places Inter Milan appears to be closest to Atalanta after having a game in hand and a win in that game will make them level on points with Atalanta who are on 21 goal difference while Inter are on 19 goal difference.
