Nigeria Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was on target for Atalanta as they failed to record a win in the last day of their historic campaign.
Lookman whose fine form this season knows no bound started as a second striker for Gian Piero Gasperini’s men as he has done throughout the season.
The forward scored in the first half to draw level with Fiorentina and later provided an assist that brought the scores to 2-2 in the second half before André Beloti scored what eventually became the winning goal for the Florence-based side.
Atalanta, despite the result finished 4th in the Serie A log but would have finished 3rd above Juventus if they had managed to win their last game.
Lookman has scored a total of 11 Serie A goals this season with 8 assists including one in the last game as he played 31 games.
The forward will now fly to Nigeria as his colleagues are already in Uyo, preparing for the crucial World Cup Qualifiers against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday, June 7.
Nigerians will hope Lookman replicates his club form when he plays for the Super Eagles especially as Victor Osimhen will be absent and the attack will be shared between Lookman and German-based Victor Boniface.
