Nigeria superstar Ademola Lookman has taken his side Atalanta to the top of the Serie A table after their hard-fought 2-1 win over AC Milan.

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman handed Atalanta the goal when it mattered most to secure all three points to the Gasperini side.

Forward Charles De Ketelaere opened the scoring in the 13th minute for the host before Alvaro Morata secured the equalizer in the 22nd minute.

It was a deadlock at half time as Atalanta is eyeing the top spot in the league.

But African Player of the year nominee Ademola Lookman was always there to deliver his side in important games stood his ground to score Atalanta’s second of the night to hand them the much-needed win.

The forward took his goal tally to eight goals and four assists so far in the domestic division in just fourteen games.

Atalanta are now top of the Serie A table with two points clear off second place Napoli who are a game below.

The Naples-based side will play 5th place Lazio for them to regain their top spot as a draw will only consolidate their second place.
