Tragedy struck in Port Harcourt today as a businessman, who returned from a two-week business trip earlier than expected, reportedly shot his security guard after catching him in a compromising situation with his wife inside their matrimonial bedroom.
According to eyewitness reports, the man had traveled for work but returned home before the end of his trip, arriving at his residence in the early hours of the morning. Upon entering his home, he allegedly found his wife and the security guard in what has been described as a questionable position in their bedroom.
Overcome with rage, the man is said to have retrieved a firearm and shot the security guard, who died on the spot. The incident, which took place in the GRA area of Port Harcourt, has left neighbors in shock, as they gathered outside the residence after hearing the gunshot.
Local authorities have since arrived at the scene and taken the businessman into custody for questioning, while the body of the deceased has been moved to the morgue. The wife of the businessman is also assisting the police with their investigation.
