A yet-to-be-identified man slumped and died inside the courtroom of an Ondo State High Court sitting in Oka, Ondo, in the Ondo West Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
The unfortunate incident forced the court to adjourn its sitting abruptly after the man reportedly slumped and died.
The deceased, said to be in his late 70s, was in court with his friend to stand as a witness in a case. The audience was awaiting the entrance of the judge when the incident occurred.
He was reported to have slumped and given up the ghost immediately, and all efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
A court staff, confirming the death, said the man, who appeared healthy, just slumped without colliding with anything and died immediately.
“The man was in court with his friend, and suddenly he stood up from where he was seated and fell down, hitting his head on the tiles and passing away.
