Manchester United has agreed to a deal in principle for the acquisition of Malian talent Sekou Koné from Guidars football club.

United warded off several interests from other clubs to acquire the young talented defensive Midfielder.

As revealed per Fabrizio Romano, the 2006 born talent will link up with his new club Manchester United in the coming days as he is set to begin his career outside his homeland for the first time outside Mali.

The youngster was scouted during the U-17 world cup as he passed through the same football academy JMG academy.

Kone started his career with the JMG academy in Bamako, Mail, following in the footsteps of Tottenham Hotspur and Mali international Yves Bissouma.

United have now signed two world class talents after adding former Arsenal forward Chido Obi Martin to their squad and now Koné.

United’s business this summer has shown keen desire in bringing future talents as they seek to develop footballers in their academy to follow the footsteps of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Gernacho who got their breakthrough in the 2023/24 and 2022/23 football seasons respectively .
