Manchester United rising star Kobbie Mainoo has been voted the Emirates Cup player of the season.

After his breakthrough campaign, Mainoo puts in a solid display to help his side Manchester United win their second domestic trophy in two seasons.

After winning the Carabao cup last season and finishing in the Champions League place, many United supporters were gearing up for a super season under Erik Ten Hag.

But the Dutchman has to face more injury concerns than the number of games he has coached.

Under what could be termed as a disastrous campaign, Ten Hag also managed to secure yet another domestic cup which has guaranteed him a place in the Europa League next season.

One of the positives of this season has been the coming to live of a teenage sensation, Kobbie Mainoo who has been one of the stand out performers for Man United this season.

After suffering a lengthy injury that put him on the sidelines for months at the start of the season.

Mainoo came in and cemented his place in the United squad while competing for a starting spot with the likes of Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat.

But he has to push the two either to the bench or outside their favourable spot and he plays a bit high up the pitch.

This more advanced role has helped him to become a goal scorer on a regular basis.

Mainoo has scored two FA cup goals in his six appearances in the competition with both goals coming against Premier League big guns, Liverpool and Manchester City.

The teenager scored a stunner against Liverpool at Old Trafford in a dramatic game that ended 4-3 in favour of the Red Devils thanks to a last minute counter attack led by Alejandro Gernacho and finished up by Amad Diallo.

Mainoo also scored what turned out to be the winning goal for Manchester United against cross-town rivals City at Wembley.

United legend Paul Scholes described Mainoo after the game as a player 10 times better than him when he was 19.

Mainoo became the FA Cup player of the season after his tremendous contributions towards United success in the competition.
