May Edochie’s legal counsel has accused her estranged husband, actor Yul Edochie, of ceasing to provide for their children.
In a video shared online on June 12, attorney Ugwuonye claimed that Yul has repeatedly told his children to ask their mother for support since she is “making more money than him.” Ugwuonye made these assertions while addressing Nigerians who have been comparing the marriage of Yul and May to that of Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels.

Ugwuonye pointed out that Nwoko ensured his marriages were conducted under Customary law, which permits polygamy without limitation, unlike Sharia law, which restricts a Muslim man to a maximum of four wives. He noted, “Nwoko is taking care of all his children, paying their school fees, and providing for them
Yul is not doing that. Yul is not supporting his children at all. Indeed, Yul told his daughter that their mother is making more money than him now. Can you imagine? So you are going into polygamy and you can’t take care of the children? So please don’t compare the two.”
Ugwuonye also alleged that Judy, Yul’s second wife, is involved in a “campaign of calumny and smear” against May.
