Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has stated that no government can address every issue facing the nation.
He pointed out that even administrations that have been in power for two decades continue to encounter challenges.
Wike made these remarks while inspecting road construction projects in the Bwari Area Council on Wednesday.
He reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring that President Bola Tinubu’s current administration positively impacts all regions of Abuja, including both the city center and its surrounding towns.
During his site visit, Wike commented, “As we traveled through Kwaita, I was struck by the length of the road, and now in Yongo Sukuk, I find it hard to believe what I’ve observed. I am grateful to Almighty God that the Renewed Hope Agenda is indeed active and effective.”
Regarding the performance of the contractors, he recognized the difficulties brought on by this year’s heavy rainfall but expressed his approval of the progress being made.
“We’ve set a deadline of December for the completion of this project, and I am pleased with the quality of work being delivered in these rural areas. I have toured several sites, including Dutse, Ushafa, and Kwaita, and I am genuinely impressed with their dedication,” he remarked.
Wike assured that adequate funding would enable contractors to fulfill their commitments to their projects.
He also highlighted the significance of firsthand evaluations in monitoring project status, stating, “It’s essential for us to visit and witness the actual conditions rather than solely relying on reports.”
“We have observed fertile farmland and ample agricultural land, and if the government utilizes this potential effectively, we should not have to worry about food security.
“Government is a continuum. We will strive to complete as many projects as possible. No administration can resolve all issues; even a government in power for 20 years will still face obstacles. What matters is that citizens can recognize the efforts being made to ease their burdens,” he added.
Wike assured residents that both the city and its satellite towns would feel the positive effects of the current administration’s initiatives.
