The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has honoured its retiring Directors and staff for their contributions to the organization’s mandate of developing the Niger Delta region.
During a ceremony in Port Harcourt, NDDC Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku emphasized the importance of recognizing the retirees’ decades of dedicated service and urged current and former staff to protect the agency from unwarranted criticisms.
He said the Commission intended to work with some retirees as consultants, valuing their institutional memory and experience.
In his remarks, NDDC Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Patrick Ekade, described the ceremony as a celebration of the retirees’ achievements and a way to inspire current staff.
On behalf of the retirees, former Director of Corporate Affairs, Dr Pius Ughakpoteni, expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed their commitment to support the NDDC in the future.
He also viewed retirement as an opportunity for personal growth, learning, and giving back to society through mentoring younger generations.
