Abdullahi Usman Tumburkai, a community leader and seasoned journalist from Dandume Local Government, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Candidates Forum in preparation for the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Katsina State.

The decision to appoint Tumburkai came during a meeting held at the party’s Secretariat in Katsina on Sunday, which saw the gathering of 34 elected PDP candidates.

In a statement issued by the Forum’s Public Relations Officer, Hamisu Ismail Jibia, and shared with the media, it was highlighted that Tumburkai’s leadership role reflects his commitment to fostering democratic participation and creating a platform for candidates to engage with voters.

The statement noted, “As Chairman, Abdullahi Tumburkai will direct the forum’s efforts to improve transparency and accessibility in the electoral process. The Party Candidates Forum is essential for candidates to present their platforms, connect with voters, and collaborate on community issues that matter most.”

“This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to unite various voices and ensure that all candidates can articulate their visions for the future. I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive atmosphere where voters can make informed choices,” Tumburkai stated.

Additionally, the Forum announced several key appointments: Honourable Abdurrahman Rilwan from Kusada Local Government as Secretary, Honourable Yasir Ibrahim from Katsina Local Government as Treasurer,

Honourable Tarik Yahaya from Musawa Local Government as Financial Secretary, with Honourable Nura Mai’adua and Honourable Hamisu Ismail Jibia serving as Organising Secretary and Public Relations Officer, respectively.

The PDP Candidates Forum has plans to organize a series of events leading up to the elections, including town hall meetings and chances for voters to meet the candidates.

These events will allow voters to hear directly from the candidates and engage in meaningful conversations about the issues impacting their lives.
