The Niger State Government has recently received an additional 50 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, increasing the total number delivered to 250.
Under the new arrangement, at least 100 of these buses will be deployed on the Suleja-Abuja route, operating at discounted rates.
The remaining buses will be used for intra-state services, also at reduced prices.
The State Government has announced that all these buses will offer free rides to school children within the state capital.
Additionally, civil servants will benefit from discounted fares on the buses, which will run between designated stops and the state secretariat.
In related developments, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is constructing CNG/LPG stations at four locations across the state: Lambata, Tafa, Bida, and Mokwa. The Niger State Government will also build a CNG/LPG station in Kontagora.
