President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). This newly established position aims to enhance Nigeria’s energy security by coordinating policies and protecting critical infrastructure within the energy sector.
In a statement from Zakari Mijinyawa, head of Strategic Communications at ONSA, it was emphasized that Amachree’s role is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply for all Nigerians. He will oversee key initiatives to improve energy security and promote community involvement in safeguarding the country’s energy resources.
Amachree brings over 20 years of experience in business and politics, particularly in the Niger Delta region. His responsibilities will include collaborating with various stakeholders such as government ministries, security agencies, and international partners to address Nigeria’s energy challenges effectively.
The appointment reflects President Tinubu’s focus on strengthening energy security and addressing supply chain issues. Amachree holds degrees in Management and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, positioning him well for this critical role. The National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, congratulated him on this significant appointment.
