The Nigeria Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) has welcomed five new members in preparation for the 97th edition of the annual Oscars, scheduled for March 2, 2025.

In an official statement, NOSC leader Stephanie Linus announced the inclusion of Ali Nuhu, Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation; film producer Blessing Egbe; renowned journalist and film critic Victor Akande; Group Chief Executive Officer of Filmhouse Cinemas Kene Okwuosa; and actress Ijeoma Agu.

These new members will join existing committee members, including Stephanie Linus, who leads the team, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Victor Okhai, Andy Amenechi, Yibo Koko, Izu Ojukwu, Dimeji Ajibola, Emem Isong, Jude Idada, Meg Otanwa, and John Njamah.

“The additional members, coming from diverse creative backgrounds, will significantly enhance the process of selecting the best film from Nigeria,” the statement emphasized.

The expanded committee aims to bring a wealth of experience and varied perspectives to the selection process, ensuring that Nigeria’s submission for the Oscars represents the pinnacle of the country’s cinematic achievements.
