In a surprising turn of events, renowned Nigerian movie producer and actor Chris Bassey has left the entertainment industry behind to pursue a career in plumbing.
Bassey recently shared insights into his new life in Canada during a live chat with Daddy Freeze on Instagram, revealing that his new line of work not only pays better than tech jobs but also offers a more relaxed lifestyle.
During the conversation, Daddy Freeze expressed curiosity about Bassey’s career shift, asking, “I know you as a producer and actor, what career are you into this Yankee?” To which Bassey candidly responded, “I’m into construction here.”
The actor’s transition from the glitz and glamour of Nollywood to construction work in Canada has raised eyebrows, but Bassey was quick to justify his decision.
Speaking in pidgin, he explained, “In the last seven months, the province I have visited just on weekends in Canada, even person wey dey do tech no fit afford am. For here, I don’t know about the UK or US.”
