In a recent interview, Pastor Adewale Giwa, the Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, expressed his concern over the Ministry of Livestock Development established by President Bola Tinubu. Pastor Giwa believes that the ministry will only benefit northerners and worsen the existing situation in the country.
Rather than creating a ministry, Pastor Giwa argued that President Tinubu should focus on implementing a ban on open grazing.
He emphasized that open grazing has been a source of conflict between farmers and herders, with farmers suffering from the destruction of their farms and even facing harm or death in some cases.
Expressing his disappointment, Pastor Giwa stated, “Today, we wonder why it is difficult for the APC-led government under President Tinubu to ban the open grazing of cattle in Nigeria.
From my findings, 90 percent of politicians are cattle owners, and they are doing everything possible to ensure that the herdsmen can freely graze their cows on people’s farms.”
According to Pastor Giwa, the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development will primarily benefit northerners, raising questions about the potential favoritism towards that region.
He called upon President Tinubu to act decisively and put an end to open grazing, emphasizing that this ministry will not provide a solution but rather exacerbate the current situation.
In Pastor Giwa’s view, it is crucial for President Tinubu to prioritize the well-being of all Nigerians and demonstrate firm leadership by addressing the issue of open grazing.
