Speaking for the group, Dr. Segun Adeyemi of the Nigerian Professionals in Diaspora (NPID) strongly supported Kyari’s leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). Adeyemi stated that their group stands firmly with Kyari and supports his efforts to revamp the oil and gas industry.

Adeyemi dismissed the criticisms against Kyari, stating that they were baseless and lacked real evidence. The press conference saw a diverse crowd, including key industry figures, members of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK, and media representatives.

The NPID pledged to ensure the public receives accurate and truthful information regarding the NNPCL’s leadership and performance.

Adeyemi declared, “We have thoroughly reviewed the complaints against Mallam Kyari and find them not only unjust but also ignorant of the significant progress made under his leadership.

“Under Kyari’s guidance, the NNPCL has achieved notable improvements in efficiency, financial health, and crucial industry reforms. These advancements have positively impacted Nigeria’s economy and the lives of our people, both domestically and abroad.

“As Nigerians living and working outside our home country, we have closely monitored the discussions about the NNPCL’s leadership. We feel it is our duty to contribute to this important conversation.

“Kyari’s tenure as Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPCL has shown his outstanding leadership, vision, and dedication to transforming the oil and gas sector.

“Kyari has turned the NNPCL from a secretive and bureaucratic organization into a more efficient, transparent, and business-focused entity. This transformation has made the company more responsive to the needs of Nigerians and the broader industry, both locally and globally.

“We, the Nigerian Professionals in Diaspora, fully support Mallam Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPCL. We believe he is the right leader to guide the company through current challenges and towards a prosperous future for all Nigerians, at home and abroad.”

Adeyemi added that the NNPCL requires a leader with experience and deep knowledge. “The oil and gas sector is vital to Nigeria’s economy and needs strong, capable leadership to handle its complexities and uncertainties.

“Mallam Kyari has proven his ability to lead the NNPCL effectively, and his continued leadership is essential for the company’s success and the overall growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, both domestically and internationally.

“We call on all Nigerians, from industry leaders to policymakers and the public, to support Mallam Mele Kyari and the NNPCL as they strive to fulfill their mandate and contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of our nation.”
