Following on with the government’s plan to utilize the country’s abundant gas resources for economic growth, the gas supply in Nigeria could be expected to increase by 25% soon.

President Bola Tinubu announced this during the inauguration of three important gas infrastructure projects in Ohaji-Egbema, Imo State, and Kwale, Delta State.

These projects will contribute to the domestic gas supply, benefiting the power sector, gas-based industries, and other parts of the economy.

The projects include the expansion of the AHL Gas Processing Plant, the ANOH Gas Processing Plant, and the ANOH to Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Custody Transfer Metering Station Gas Pipeline Projects.

President Tinubu’s administration aims to use gas to boost power generation, revitalize industries, and create job opportunities.

They have also brought about initiatives to encourage the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) as an alternative to petrol and diesel.

The government has been supportive of gas development through executive orders.

President Tinubu commended the project partners for their successful implementation of these projects.

He urged the national energy company, NNPC Limited, to continue their efforts in the energy sector for the benefit of all Nigerians.

The commissioning of these projects signifies a significant step towards enhancing energy supply, promoting industrial growth, and creating employment opportunities.

It is In line with the government’s Decade of Gas initiative, which aims to maximize Nigeria’s gas assets, reduce gas flaring, and accelerate industrialization.
