Aloy Ejimakor, the chief legal representative for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has issued a stark warning to President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that karma can be quite unforgiving.
Ejimakor cautioned Tinubu that those who played a role in Kanu’s controversial rendition and ongoing detention have faced significant backlash, including disgrace, dismissal, or opposition from the public.
He highlighted recent upheavals in Kenya, the scandal involving former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and the dismal reputation of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, which has been labeled as the worst in Nigeria’s history.
Kanu was rearrested in 2021 and forcibly returned from Kenya to Nigeria during Buhari’s tenure. Ejimakor reminded Tinubu that widespread protests against his administration are currently taking place across Nigeria.
In a media post, Ejimakor stated, “Every leader or individual involved in the extraordinary rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has either departed in disgrace, been removed from office, or is encountering backlash from their constituents. For instance:
“Since Kenya compromised its sovereignty and allowed the illegal abduction of MAZI NNAMDI KANU, the nation has experienced ongoing turmoil. Kenya has lost its peace and is still grappling with the consequences. Former President Uhuru Kenyatta might soon find himself facing charges at the ICC.
“In the UK, Boris Johnson, who covertly approved the kidnapping of a citizen, faced public disgrace and was ousted from power. The Conservative Party subsequently lost the elections to the Labour Party, which has now followed a similar path, plunging the nation into chaos.
“As for Nigeria: The Buhari administration, which funded Kanu’s rendition from Kenya, is etched in history as the worst government Nigeria has ever seen. This regime will be forever remembered for inflicting extreme hardship and injustice upon the populace, challenges that Nigerians are still striving to overcome.
“President Tinubu, much like British leader Keir Starmer, has chosen not to release MNK, and unsurprisingly, citizens are taking to the streets in mass protests. The outlook remains dire.
“The Bible warns: ‘Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.’ Heaven is exacting retribution on those responsible for kidnapping MNK and who have yet to amend their wrongs. Justice is indeed being served from above. And karma knows no mercy.”
