The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has attributed the current fuel supply and distribution issues in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to a hitch in the discharge operations of a few vessels.
This was disclosed by Mr. Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., in a statement on Saturday.
Mr. Soneye’s statement comes as a response to the queues and fuel scarcity observed in parts of Lagos and the FCT.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), queues began forming at fuel stations in the FCT on Friday, with motorists lining up at various stations, while some stations remained shut.
“The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels,” Soneye explained.
He assured that the company is working tirelessly with all stakeholders to address the situation and restore normalcy in fuel supply and distribution operations as quickly as possible.
