Buba Galadima, a prominent figure within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has asserted that the party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, would likely excel beyond the current leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Galadima expressed his concerns regarding the stagnation of development in Nigeria during his appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today program. He drew parallels with India, highlighting how the nation has utilized foreign remittances to foster its growth.

He stated, “Rabiu Kwankwaso possesses the capability to outperform Tinubu, as we could even export talents like Seun to international platforms such as CNN or Al Jazeera to generate foreign currency.”

Galadima emphasized the potential of nurturing Nigerian skills, suggesting, “Instead of merely discussing Java, we should intentionally train individuals and facilitate their opportunities abroad, similar to India’s approach. In the past, the Nigerian government employed Indian nationals to provide education.”

He reflected on the educational disparities, noting, “There were instances where an Indian with a master’s degree lacked even the basic ability to ride a bicycle. However, the remittances they received from around the globe were pivotal in advancing their IT and medical sectors, leading to the fact that today, 70% of the world’s conglomerates are owned by Indians.”

Galadima lamented the lack of genuine interest in Nigeria’s development, stating, “The focus seems solely on personal enrichment rather than national progress.”

He concluded with a call for a shift in perspective, urging leaders to engage with grassroots initiatives, citing the Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre in Kano as a model for effective training and development.
