A prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Abdulhameed Umar Danladi, has expressed his belief that key players from various opposition parties will soon unite to confront the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 elections.
While Danladi refrained from disclosing specific details about the proposed coalition, he expressed confidence that such a merger would lead to the APC being ousted from power at both the national level and in several states across the country.
In a discussion with journalists in Minna, Danladi, who serves as the Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs to the Kano State Governor and has previously held positions as Commissioner for Information and Education in Niger State, criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He lamented that the APC-led federal government has regressed the nation by decades, causing widespread suffering among Nigerians.
“There is widespread hunger in the country; despite being a petroleum-producing nation, our citizens struggle to fuel their vehicles, and the minimum wage barely covers basic living expenses,” Danladi stated.
Addressing the ongoing problems within the leadership of the NNPP, Danladi dismissed concerns about the party’s stability, asserting, “Kwankwaso is synonymous with NNPP; without him, the party ceases to exist.”
He emphasized that Rabiu Kwankwaso is the driving force behind the NNPP, which has been recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), noting that INEC representatives attended the most recent National Executive Council meeting of the party.
Danladi also accused the Niger State chapter of the NNPP of betrayal, claiming that certain leaders accepted a substantial sum of N20 million before defecting to the ruling party, which he labeled a significant sellout.
