Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has publicly criticized the federal administration led by President Bola Tinubu for entrusting the distribution of rice palliatives in Kano State to a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement shared on his official X account on Monday, the former presidential candidate expressed his discontent with the situation.
Kwankwaso pointed out that, unlike other states where Governors were involved in the distribution of palliatives, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf was excluded from this process.
“The palliative distribution has been carried out across 35 states through their respective Governors, with the exception of Kano State,” he remarked, further stating, “Kano’s allocation has been handed over to APC affiliates for management.”
He condemned this action as a “serious affront to our constitutional democracy and an extreme display of partisanship.”
The NNPP leader urged President Tinubu to “immediately put a stop to this blatant undermining of democracy.”
