Gumel made this call during the closing ceremony of the NOC Sports Administration Course, held in partnership with the National Association for Physical, Health Education, Recreation and Dance (NAPHER-SD) in Lagos.

The three-day course, which attracted over 22 sports administrators from diverse backgrounds, aimed to equip participants with effective management skills and promote harmony in sports management. Gumel emphasized the importance of such initiatives, which are supported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to enhance skills and promote active collaboration in sports management worldwide.

The course facilitators, including renowned professionals like Prof. Abiodun Moronfolu and Dr. Toyin Aluko, shared their expertise on various aspects of sports administration. The programme coordinator, Mrs. Deborah Chidobi, thanked the participants for their active participation.

Gumel charged the officials to put their newfound knowledge into practice, ensuring the success of sports management in their respective domains. This collaborative effort between NOC and NAPHER-SD marks their fifth joint initiative, demonstrating their commitment to elevating sports management practices and sports administration empowerment across Nigeria.

Gumel’s call to action emphasizes the need for continuous learning and capacity building in sports administration.
