An 18-year-old man, identified as Anichede Akachukwu, also known as Star B, has been apprehended by the Anambra State Police for his alleged involvement in criminal activities. According to a statement from the spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect is believed to be a prominent member of a notorious cult group and an armed robbery syndicate.
Reportedly, Akachukwu, alias Star B, has been linked to various robbery incidents in Asaba, Delta State, as well as Ogbaru in Anambra. His arrest followed a confrontation with law enforcement officers during which he sustained a gunshot injury. SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed that the suspect was undergoing medical treatment for his gunshot wound when he was apprehended.

In an official statement, SP Tochukwu Ikenga stated, “We are pleased to announce the apprehension on 17/5/2024 of a notorious and highly sought-after cultist and armed robber in Uruagu village, Oba, Idemili South LGA. The suspect, Anichede Akachukwu, also known as Star B, 18 years old, is a self-proclaimed leader of the Vikings Secret Cult Confraternity and a prominent figure in an armed gang that has been wreaking havoc in Ogbaru LGA and Asaba, Delta State.”
Furthermore, Ikenga mentioned that the arrest was made possible through intelligence gathered, as the suspect sought medical attention for his injuries sustained during a confrontation with law enforcement. Akachukwu has reportedly provided valuable information regarding the operations and members of his gang, aiding ongoing investigations.
Additionally, in a separate operation in Okija, Ihiala LGA, the police recovered a white Porsche Cayenne Jeep suspected to be utilized by secessionist groups. Upon inspection of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered ammunition, cartridges, a flashlight, charms, and other incriminating items.
Ikenga emphasized the commitment of the Command to intensify efforts in combating crime and eliminating criminal elements within the state, urging officers to maintain momentum and vigilance in order to ensure the safety and security of residents.
