Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has emphasized the immense potential of Nigeria’s abundant resources, skilled workforce, and innovative opportunities as key factors for revitalizing the nation’s economy. He made these remarks during the Design and Build Expo 2024, organized by Ecobank Nigeria, which concluded in Lagos over the weekend.
Obasanjo praised the bank for spearheading such initiatives and encouraged other organizations to follow suit. He also revealed his goal of constructing a home furnished entirely with locally made Nigerian products.
While visiting the Julius Berger-AFP pavilion at the expo, the former president expressed his admiration for the exceptional quality of the furniture showcased.
Accompanied by Ecobank’s Managing Director, Mobolaji Lawal, Obasanjo was greeted by Oliver Cohnen, the General Manager of the furniture company, at the AFP stand. He stated, “I aspire to have a home filled exclusively with furniture crafted in Nigeria, just like these pieces. This is of great significance to me. I am thoroughly impressed with what I see here and truly appreciate it.”
