A coalition of support groups, including members of the Obidient Movement and the Labour Party (LP), has officially endorsed Senator Nenadi Usman as the new caretaker national chairman of the party.

In a joint statement issued by Eze Morrison Onyenmaechi and Dr Danjuma Sale, the groups praised Usman’s significant contributions during her tenure on the presidential campaign council for the party in the 2023 elections, highlighting her impact in Kaduna State and beyond.

The statement expressed: “As representatives of the Great Obidients and LP stakeholders in our state, we wholeheartedly support Senator Nenadi Usman’s appointment as the chairperson of the Labour Party’s caretaker committee.”

The coalition expressed confidence in Usman’s ability to revitalize the Labour Party by fostering inclusive and expansive congresses at every level, from local wards to the national convention.

“Congratulations to Distinguished Senator Nenadi Usman on her well-earned position as the chairman of the national caretaker committee of the Labour Party,” the groups conveyed.

They noted that Usman’s steadfast support, evidenced by her distribution of souvenirs like wrappers, banners, caps, T-shirts, and financial donations across Kaduna and the nation, played a crucial role in rallying the support groups and the Obidient movement.

Furthermore, the coalition urged all members of the support groups, the Obidient movement, and party leaders to unite in backing the national caretaker committee under Usman’s leadership.
