The Ogun State Government has warned members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) against disrupting public peace and threatened to limit their operations if unrest occurs.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the State Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, responded to reports that some NURTW members in Ijebu-Ode are challenging the decisions of the union’s leadership and may resort to violence.

The government emphasized its commitment to maintaining peace and warned that it will not tolerate any actions that threaten the state’s stability. Dairo made it clear that the union must resolve its disputes within the bounds of the law and ensure that public safety is prioritized.

He further cautioned that Ogun State will restrict NURTW’s activities in public spaces if any breach of peace occurs, urging union members to use their internal conflict resolution mechanisms and avoid actions that could put lives and property at risk.
