Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has opened up about a health scare that led to emergency surgery during her stay in the United States.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared a video from the hospital and recounted her harrowing experience, expressing gratitude for life and health.
Omotola revealed that she underwent surgery to remove her gallbladder after a series of emergency room visits failed to resolve her symptoms.
In her post, she wrote:
“🍁🦃🍽 Please join me as I thank God for Life and Good health. Have you been told by a Doctor, ‘There’s nothing more we can do at this time,’ and you still feel like you’re dying? A read…
The actress explained how the ordeal unfolded, starting with persistent back and chest pains that saw her rushed to the emergency room twice in one week. Initially, doctors suspected high blood pressure and severe acid reflux, but the pain persisted.
After attending a viewing for Gladiator II, she realized her condition had worsened:
“I could not sit up during the movie. I threw up all night until there was nothing left to throw up. By morning, the most dilapidating stomach pain started, and I was rushed to the ER for the third time.”
A CT scan, ultrasound, and MRI confirmed the severity of her condition.
“The doctor said, ‘You have to go in immediately for surgery to remove your gallbladder.’ It was so dilated, the doctors wondered how I wasn’t in more pain. More pain?!?!”
Omotola expressed gratitude to God for her recovery, urging her followers to appreciate the gifts of life and good health.
“Whether you’re in the US or not, there’s so much to thank God for. Take some time to join in and give thanks. Not only for the gift of life but for good health, a complete body, and a sane mind to dream of a better day!”
She concluded her heartfelt post with:
“#HappyThanksgiving Friends. God is good. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🍁🦃🍽🥂”
Omotola’s message resonated with many of her fans, who praised her for sharing her testimony and celebrating resilience and faith.
