Honorable Samuel Boniface, the youth leader of the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State, has accused certain politicians of attempting to entice him with a ₦100 million offer to dissolve the LP’s structure into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the forthcoming elections.

In an interview, The youth leader revealed that he declined the lucrative proposal from influential figures within the PDP, asserting his dedication to his principles and his unwillingness to betray his party.

He stated, “As the state youth leader of the Labour Party, three weeks ago, I was approached by some PDP stakeholders who wanted me to merge the Labour Party with their party. They offered me N100 million, but I refused because I have ambitions of my own. I cannot compromise my conscience like that.”

Boniface further emphasized his loyalty: “I made it clear that I would never betray my supporters and my party. When I ran for the House of Representatives in 2023, they attempted the same tactic, but I told them I’d prefer to lose the election than sacrifice my integrity.”

He expressed concern over ongoing attempts to undermine the Labour Party, stating, “They are making every effort to buy us out and are willing to offer substantial sums. However, I firmly believe that if we remain united, they will not prevail. People are fed up with both APC and PDP.”

In support of LP Chairperson Remilekun Ojo, Boniface also dismissed recent media claims alleging that candidate Olusola Ebiseni had been disqualified by the Appeal Court.

He asserted, “The reports circulating on social media are blatant lies. It’s truly disheartening because the court had already dismissed the case, and the matter was resolved out of court.”

Boniface announced that the party intends to take legal action against media outlets that propagated the disqualification rumors. “We have decided to sue certain newspapers for falsely reporting that our candidate is no longer eligible. If you check the INEC portal, our candidate is still listed, so who claims to have removed him?”

“With the election only two days away, such disinformation is disruptive, and we are determined to take action against the publication. Why would they assert that our candidate was disqualified without any evidence to back their claims?”
